Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast is the former Sirēya Desaru Coast, under Mandarin Oriental management effective 30 January 2026. The operator's release of 5 June 2025 had expected the property to join its portfolio that month, ahead of a full rebranding in January 2026, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on 5 February 2026.

The resort lies on the south-eastern shoreline of Johor, within 128 acres of rainforest and a 1.5 km beachfront. Kerry Hill Architects designed it, and the operator calls it the last completed project in the architect's portfolio. It has 44 suites, each from 105 square metres with a private plunge pool, courtyard and veranda, and one Four Bedroom Pool Villa with a 27-metre private infinity pool. The operator's 2025 release counted 44 suites and villas.

Ambara serves Mediterranean and Malaysian dishes, Essential serves international cuisine and OFYR Dinner is a private beachside barbecue. Lumare Beach House & Sports Club is due to open in November 2026 as the group's first beach club in Southeast Asia. A 56-metre infinity pool frames the ocean views, and the spa offers two signature rituals, Ocean Homecoming and Jungle Wild Surge, alongside Augustinus Bader facials.

Senai International Airport is a 45-minute car transfer away and Singapore Changi about two hours by car. A 90-minute ferry runs from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore from Thursday to Monday. The resort holds One MICHELIN Key.

“Effective 30 January 2026, The Sirēya Desaru Coast became Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast, under the management of Mandarin Oriental.”

The operator’s wording, read on its own page and last checked 1 November 2026.
