Mandarin Oriental, Suzhou is listed on the operator's hotel page as opening in 2027. The operator's release of 13 February 2025 said 2026, so the date has moved back a year. Neither page gives a month.

The hotel will stand on the east bank of Jinji Lake in the Suzhou Industrial Park, linked by a skybridge to the SUZHOU CENTRAL mall, at No. 109, You'an Street. It will have 146 guest rooms and suites, three restaurants, a lounge, a bar and a cakeshop, a spa, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and a children's club. ZNA is the architect. Suzhou Harmony Development Group, a subsidiary of Sungent Holdings Group, is developing the hotel in partnership with Hongkong Land.

The operator's page ties the design to the classical gardens of Suzhou. Rooms will use Chinese lacquer art, Suzhou sandalwood fans and Suzhou lanterns in their details, and the dining spaces draw on the city's boat banquets, double-sided embroidery and the literati gatherings at Taohuawu. The operator has not published restaurant names.
