Regent Bora Bora is the planned conversion of the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa, which closed on 1 June 2026 for renovation. IHG announced the agreement with its long-standing partner Pacific Beachcomber on 16 September 2026 and says the resort will reopen as Regent Bora Bora in late 2027. It will be the Regent brand's first hotel in French Polynesia.

The resort is set on a private motu on the eastern edge of Bora Bora's lagoon. IHG says it will offer an exclusively overwater experience across 84 villas, with direct lagoon access and views towards Mount Otemanu and the open Pacific. The stated plan is to blend intuitive service, dining, design and experiences connected to Polynesian culture.

Three Regent hallmarks are named. Personal Havens are intimate retreat spaces, Regent Experience Agents give guests a single point of contact from before arrival through departure, and With Compliments is the brand's approach to thoughtful inclusions.

IHG also says the property was the first hotel in the world to use a seawater air-conditioning system, which draws naturally cold water from the depths of the Pacific. It credits the system with cutting the electricity used for air conditioning and refrigeration by around 90%, and says it will keep operating after the conversion.
