Park Hyatt Johannesburg opened on July 1, 2025, in the Rosebank district. Hyatt counts it as the Park Hyatt brand's third destination in Africa. It has 31 guestrooms and suites, and its restaurant, Room 32, is named for that number.

The building went up in the 1930s as a colonial mansion and shows the influence of Sir Herbert Baker. The restoration kept its arches, high ceilings and wide verandahs. Rooms and suites have king-size beds, floor-to-ceiling windows and marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, and some have private patios. Stephen Falcke is the designer.

The hotel is organized around an open-air courtyard with a jacaranda tree and sculpted gardens, and it has a heated outdoor pool. Room 32 cooks over live-fire grills with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The Lounge serves cocktails, wine and cigars, and a dedicated sommelier looks after the wine list.

When Hyatt announced the opening, the spa was still described as opening soon. Its treatments use native ingredients such as rooibos, marula oil and baobab extract. The event space holds up to 60 guests.

“today announced the opening of Park Hyatt Johannesburg, marking the luxury brand’s third destination in the African region”
