Fairmont Tokyo opened on 1 July 2025, when a ribbon-tying ceremony marked the brand's debut in Japan. Accor's December 2024 roundup had given mid-2025, and reservations opened on 1 April for that date. The hotel occupies floors 35 to 43 of the South Tower of Blue Front Shibaura, in the Shibaura district. The release gives six minutes to Tokyo and Shinagawa stations and 13 minutes to Haneda Airport.

There are 217 rooms and suites, from 52 to 278 square metres, on floors 36 to 42, and 29 of them are suites. BAR Studio designed the interiors, with seating areas inspired by the Japanese engawa. Fairmont Gold adds a private lounge and check-in.

Seven venues cover five restaurants and two bars. Kiln & Tonic serves wood-fired pizzas and grilled seafood on the 35th floor, Vue Mer serves afternoon tea, Migiwa and Totsuji reimagine sushi and teppanyaki, DRIFTWOOD cooks Yoshoku, Yoi to Yoi serves Japanese street food and OFF RECORD is a listening bar. The spa and a 24-hour gym are on the 35th floor, with a 20-meter indoor infinity pool. The Fairmont Grand Ballroom holds up to 1,200 guests. Check-in is from 3 PM and check-out by 12 noon.

“The milestone was marked by a ribbon-tying ceremony held on July 1, 2025, celebrating a history-making moment as the brand enters the Japanese market for the very first time.”
